Maybe Standard Pizza is the new standard, the bar has been set and raised. I wouldn’t consider myself a professional pizzaiolo but I know my way around some bread and cheese in pie form. I must say that Standard really delivers a solid product with quality toppings and great crust.
Located on Cook and Pandora, Standard offers minimalist thin-crust pizzas for your ooey-gooey pie-eating pleasure. I like that their focus isn’t on loading a pizza with a million ingredients but rather focusing on a few high-quality toppings that really marry well together. Some examples of their combos are : Anchovy with garlic, caper and olive, their White pizza with ricotta, caramelized onions and arugula, and their Kale pizza with garlic chili oil and lemon.
The pizza is cooked quickly in a screaming hot oven and the crust is blessed with bubbles of goodness. I also will say that their prices for small pizzas are really quite reasonable given the quality. Small pizzas range from $10-$14 so getting two pizzas to share for a Netflix night won’t break the bank.
Buon appetito!
