For those of you that know me, you know that eventually I’ll be moving out to Langford in the next year. So naturally, I have started to scout out some restaurants to eat at!
This was my second time going to Turmeric and it was delicious just as I had remembered. First impressions, it’s a huge restaurant, lots of parking which is convenient. It wasn’t very busy at all for a week night so I hope that they get some more business coming in the doors.
We shared a few dishes this time: prawns in a creamy curry sauce, a vegetable biryani and mattar paneer (soft cheese and peas cooked in a creamy sauce). The naan bread was beautifully crisp and had good flavour. I enjoyed all three dishes but my favourite was definitely the biryani. When it came to the table it had an amazing aroma. I knew it was familiar so I asked the server if there were roses in the dish and she was surprised, saying that they put a little bit of rosewater over top to finish it. It was super unique; I’d never had that before, I really liked the aroma with the spices.
Overall, I felt the portions and quality were good value for the reasonable price. I’ll be coming back here when I live in Langford 🙂
